AVERSION & JEALOUSY

The Holy Quraan says: "& covet not the thing in which Allah  has made some of you excel others. Unto men a fortune from that which they have earned & unto women a fortune from that which they have earned. (envy not one another) but ask Allah of His Bounty. Lo! Allah is ever Knower of all things. (4:32) & says: I seek refuge in the Lord! from the evil of the envier when he envies." (113:5)

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported that Allah's Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales & do not look for others, faults & do not spy & do not be jealous of one another & do not desert (cut your relation with) one another & do not hate one another & O Allah's worshippers! Be brothers (as Allah has ordered you)." (Bukhari)

Sayyiduna Anas (radi Allahu anhu) reported that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Jealousy eats up virtues like fire eats up the wood & Sadaqah extinguishes sins like water extinguishes fire." (Ibn-e-Majah)

Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said: "Jealousy spoils the faith like the aloe spoils the honey."

The Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: "You have inherited a disease from the previous nation & that is aversion & jealousy. The jealousy shaves off the religion & not the hair. By Him Who holds the life of Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), you cannot enter Paradise unless you have faith & you will not become a believer unless you love each other. Should I not tell you a thing by doing which you will love each other & that is, popularize Salaam amongst yourselves." (Tirmizi)

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Basar (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Glorious Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Jealousy, backbiting & sorcery are not of me nor am I of them." (Tabraani)

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) reported that Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Don't be jealous of one another, nor speak ill of someone in his absence & live united like brothers." (Bukhari)
