IQAAMAT

- The "Iqaamah" is the call to gather the Jamaat (Congregation) for the Farz Salaat inside the Masjid.
- The "Mukabbir" is the person who recites the Iqaamat.
- The Iqaamat must be recited in a voice loud enough for the Jamaat to hear.
- If you are reading the Farz Salaat alone it is necessary for you to recite the Iqaamat.
- The words of the Iqaamat is the same as in the Azaan, except that the Mukabbir will read after the "Hayya alal-Falah": "Prayer has indeed begun." "Prayer has indeed begun."
- The Mukabbir must not turn his face during "Hayya alas-Salaat" & "Hayya alal Falah."
- The Mukabbir must not place his Shahaadat fingers in his ears during the Iqaamat but should stand with his arms at his side.
- It is also Mustahab to remain sitting when the Iqaamat is being recited & to stand at the point when you hear "Hayya alal-Falah."
