The Virtues of The Amamah
1. "Tie the turban (amamah). It will increase you in forbearance." (fath-ul-Bari)
2. Wear the turban as it is a sign of Islam & it distinguishes between a muslim & kafir (Ainee)
3. "I saw Rasulallah (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) wearing a black turban." (Shamail Tirmidhi & Ibn Maja)
4. Numerous narrations of Rasulallah (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) wearing a turban have been transmitted in Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood, Ibn Maja, Baihaqi, Tabrani, Mishkat, etc.
5. Abdur Rehman ibn Auf (Radi Allah Anhu) wearing a black cotton turban, presented himself to Rasulallah (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) for a apending mission. Rasulallah (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) motioned him closer to himself & removed his turban & tied a white turban to his head." (Mustradak al-Hakim)
6. "When I ascended the sky (Miraj) I saw that most of the angels were wearing turbans." (Tabrani)
7. "Make a practice of tying turbans since it is a hallmark of the angels. Furthermore, tie them in such a manner that the tail hangs at the back." (Baihaqi & Mishkat)
8. "The difference between us and the mushrikeen isthat we wear a topi under our turban while the mushrikeen do not." (Tirmidhi)
9. Rasulallah (Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) would not venture outdoors without a turban." (Faiz-ul-Qadeer)
10. Prayer offered wearing an Amamah is seventy times more excellent than that offered without. (Ihya Uloom-ud-Deen - Imam al-Ghazali)
